What if you could make predictions about the future of urban land use, development, population and based on potential scenarios you create and test them against real data in real time?
It’s called a Planning Support System by urban planners.
Now the Australian Research Data Commons and the City Futures Research Centre, have created the Australian Housing Data Analytics Platform called What If?
What If? in an online tool that uses existing geo location data to support some of the significant and challenging works of the land use and urban planning processes by:
analysing the suitability of land use transformation for different types,
projecting future population, number of employees, etc, as well as the corresponding land use demands, and
allocating the projected demands to the most suitable locations under various conditions.
It’s fascinating to see what it can do and how technology is and can utilise property information in unprecedent ways.
Here’s the website where you’ll find more information and can access the What If? tools - https://www.ahdap.org/what-if1
Here’s a demonstration about how What If? works.
And, here’s the User Manual that explains how it works and how to use What If?
I’ll be running What If? scenarios to see where there’s going to be more strata buildings, owners, renters, managers and other stakeholders to plan for future strata business plans, investments, products, services and more.
