It looks like pugilistic strata academic, consultant and provocateur Michael Teys, has come out swinging at the Strata Community Association in the wake of the 2024 Strata Insurance Crises in his recent article SCA is MIA - 7 Reasons Why SCA in its Current Form Deserves to Fail.
In it, he’s pretty critical of SCA’s action [or inaction] during 2024 citing 7 reasons why.
The silence of SCA senior leaders and management is deafening.
There is a vacuum of leadership within SCA which is dangerous.
The SCA NSW Professional Standards Scheme is discredited.
SCA has always had an identity crisis.
There is no clearly defined higher purpose served by SCA.
SCA is the puppet of its sponsors.
The national body has a feeble grip on its federation.
They are fighting words. And, Michael says to his critics ‘Bring it on!’.
But, is this a bit of a sucker punch to SCA since it’s been losing presidents, directors and others over the last 6 months and is due to elect some new leaders shortly in several Australian states.
So, perhaps there’ll be a few more game-ready strata fighters within SCA soon to put Michael on the ropes?
Fortunately [for me], this ain’t my fight.
