So are the New NSW Strata Laws Stuck in the Middle ???

Last month NSW Fair Trading announced the second round of the strata law changes they started working on in 2021 including new provisions to address 37 more recommended changes in the Strata Schemes Legislation Amendment Bill 2024.

But, where are those new strata laws actually at right now?

• On 19 November 2024, the Bill was introduced to the NSW Legislative Assembly and the first reading speech was delivered.

• On 20 September 2024, the second reading speech was delivered.

• No member of the NSW Legislative Assembly has proposed any amendments yet.

• No member of the NSW Legislative Council has proposed any amendments yet.

• The Bill hasn’t been considered by the NSW Legislative Council yet.

• And, NSW Parliament isn’t sitting again until 11 February 2025.

So, don’t hold your breath that the new strata laws will be under your Christmas tree in 2024.
