Almost everyone wants to be considered professional as it connotes higher standards, more accountability, and improved value.
Strata managers are no different. So, Strata Community Association NSW has spent the last few years developing and implementing a Professional Standards Scheme for their member strata managers.
The Scheme involves formal recognition of @SCANSW strata managers who undertake the prescribed training and compliance requirements, subscribe to the Code of Ethics, and are subject to regulated complaint and disciplinary regimes have extra liability protections and can call themselves professionals.
It’s one of the only Professional Standards Schemes for the property sector and a serious accomplishment.
But, of itself, it may not make things better for strata managers, or their customer strata buildings and strata owners. More on that topic in a GoStrata Media future article.
