We all know what a hot topic short term rentals [like AirBNB] is for strata title buildings and other stakeholders. Plus, we know how difficult it’s been for strata title buildings to stop short term rentals in their buildings until governments made changes to planning and other laws to help.
Well, if you’re in NSW, here’s your chance to get your issues and views off your chest.
The NSW Government is reviewing the planning policy and regulatory framework for short-term rental accommodation in NSW and options to encourage the supply of long-term rental accommodation to help unlock housing supply and improve housing affordability.
So, they’ve got a few things you can do to help.
There’s a survey you can complete until 14 March.
You can make a submission up to 14 March.
There’s a Discussion paper on short-and long-term rental accommodation.
There’s an Information sheet with FAQs.
And, there’s an information website.
I believe that the issue of short term rentals in strata buildings [at least] is far more complex than it appears and that there’s a lot of strata stakeholders issues that are misunderstood.
But, that’s for another day and article. And, for my submission.
