What happened at Surfside in Miami, Florida is a terrible tragedy that has shocked everyone and especially those in strata buildings around the world.
But, let’s not get alarmist over this incident to promote unsupported claims that strata buildings everywhere are at risk of collapsing to get attention, encourage clicks, or [worse] try to sell stuff.
No doubt the circumstances that led up to and contributed to the partial building collapse at Surfside are complicated, messy, and not as clear-cut as the popular press would like. In time I’m sure everyone will know, understand and learn more.
I’m all for highlighting defects issues in strata buildings and the lack of rights and remedies. But, for now, let’s focus on helping the innocent victims, their families and loved ones, and those that are working tirelessly to help them.
