I’ve been hearing how strata management is a profession for a long time now. But, recently strata management is also starting to be called an art.
So, are we really going there?
The term Art has a few meanings as follows, none of which I’d say really apply [and, nor should they] to strata building management.
Regardless of the debate about what strata management actually is and should be called: a trade; a service; a profession; a science; an art; [which we can keep for another time] this episode of PMT Collective podcast called The ART of Property Management, is actually a good and interesting account of the role and work of strata managers by West Australian strata manager, @AidanGorjy from Lockhart Strata Management.
Some of my favourite highlights from the podcast include:
the use of scheme summaries [which I’ve rarely seen formalised]
the discussion about how pets are taking over strata buildings [woof], and
electronic remote monitoring of small, but pesky, devices and issues like fire alarms or gas and water leaks.
Although, those things sound more like life and science that art.
