Here’s an Academic’s Views on Strata Conflicts of Interest

Dr Nicole Johnston is researcher, lecturer, writer, speaker and consultant who focuses on the strata title sector.

She’s published a short thought piece on Conflicts of Interest in Strata where she makes the point that they depend on the nature of the relationship, the obligations and duties that apply, and, the situation and says:

Essentially, any professional who has a duty to act in the interests of another, provides advice or guidance, takes action, or makes decisions on behalf of another is susceptible to conflicts of interest.

It’s a great summary analysis of the issues and as a starting point on this critical and challenging strata issue.
