We’ve highlighted Strata Community Australia NSW Code of Ethics in the Daily Post, The Strata Community Australia NSW Code of Ethics.
Part 2 of the Code covers complaints about the Code of Conduct. It’s intricate [as you’d] expect, but here’s an outline of how to make a compliant and who handles it.
Who may Lodge Complaints under this Code: Anyone can make a complaint regarding a breach of this Code whether they are or are note SCA (NSW) members.
Who handles Complaints: The Complaints Panel, which is a group of 3 current SCA Board Members approved by the SCA NSW Board handles complaints. There is also Delegated Complaints Manager who manages complaints.
How are Complaints made: Complaints must be made in writing using the Complaints Management Form with supporting materials. The Form also contains information about procedures.
The Complaints Process: There are 4 stages in the complaint process.
Stage 1 - Lodging a Complaint and Initial Processing of a Complaint
Stage 2 - Investigation of a Complaint; and
Stage 3 - Review and Hearing of a Complaint
Stage 4 - Findings and Disciplinary Action
Appeal Rights: There are appeal rights from the decisions of the Complaints Manager.
So if you want to make a complaint to SCA NSW about one of their members here’s the form.
