To better understand strata insurance issues, it’s important to know a little bit about the industry and sector groups that operate in and around the Australian insurance world.
One of the biggest and most influential industry groups is the National Insurance Brokers Association that represents Australian insurance brokers [including for the strata sector].
NIBA’s 450+ member firms employ more than 11,000 individual insurance brokers [that’s a lot of people] working in organisations ranging from large listed national businesses to sole traders. So, is very likely the strata insurance broker you’re dealing with is a member.
And, NIBA says it’s committed to supporting it’s the insurance broking sector by representing the interests of brokers and their members to government and regulators and promoting high levels of professionalism under three key pillars: representation, professionalism and community.
So, NIBA is a very big and very influential group affecting strata insurance issues and outcomes. So, we’ll be publishing more information about what they are [and aren’t] doing in relation to the 2024 Strata Insurance Crisis.
In the meantime you can find out more about @NIBA here.
